Research

Our research interests include Urban design, Public spaces, Informal urbanism, Urban informality, Everyday practices, Marketplaces and Urban design pedagogy. The recent international publications include the book chapters 'Understanding how vendors move: mapping spatial informality using grounded theory' in the Routledge Handbook of Urban Design Methods (2023) and 'Rhythmic encounters in an Indian marketplace' in 'Marketplaces: Movements, Representations & Practices (2023) as well as the papers 'The practice of tree worship' and 'The logic of urban design' both published in the Journal of Urban design.
